Handicraft
Handicrafts are items which are produced by craftsmen using tools, simple instruments or implements which are operated mainly by hand or foot.
The term handicrafts can therefore cover a very wide range of items which may be made of wood, metal, straw, leather, textiles, paper, glass, stone, gems, shells of fruit and sea shells. The sizes vary from as tiny as a pin to as large as 10-foot (3m) wooden sculpture or large textile.
From the packaging point of view, the properties of handicraft can range from totally not susceptible to damage by normal handling and transport to relatively unhandy to pack and transport (e.g. protruding parts), and on to extremely fragile (thin glass items and glass flowers). This sets demands on the ability of the producer to ensure proper handling and a correct choice to packaging.
